Colonial Chemical Company has been involved in the manufacture and supply of Urea based chemicals for NOx abatement for over 15 years and handles millions of gallons of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) and urea annually.

Colonial Chemical Company has partnered with Yara North America in the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) market and will sell the Air1® brand.  Colonial was chosen to be Yara’s Sales Agent in the Northeast & Mid-Atlantic regions of the US and also perform manufacturing, packaging, logistics, and transportation services for the Air1® network.

Yara is the global leader in the DEF business, is the leading North American producer and distributor of DEF, and is basic in the manufacture of the high purity urea needed for the DEF market. Yara has multiple source points, both domestic and offshore for the urea feedstock and couples this capability with many US terminal locations, assuring availability and security of supply for DEF nationwide.  Yara’s leadership and experience brings proven solutions to customers. Together, Yara North America and Colonial Chemical will work to sell Air1® and support Mansfield Oil Company and their DeliveryONE™ network of nationwide distributors to economically and efficiently sell and distribute Air1®, the world’s number one brand of DEF to all segments of the North American market. Air1® DEF is API Certified and meets/exceeds all ISO 22241 specifications.

As a leader in the emerging Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) market, Colonial Chemical has been an original Automotive-Alliance Stakeholder providing leadership and technical guidance to this new industry, helped develop the current ISO 22241 global specifications that define quality, and has been active in helping the industry to develop this market and infrastructure.

Colonial Chemical has been selling DEF to several OEM’s and test fleets, as well as several major truck stop chains and trucking fleets for over 6 years. Colonial Chemical has Air1®available in small packages (1 & 2.5 gallon bottles), drums, totes, as well as in bulk. We have pump sets and dispensing solutions that have been tested and proven in DEF service in a range of prices and degrees of sophistication to match customer needs.
